The Abbey of Tamié shelters cisterican monks who produce cheese. Within the framework of energy saving and the development of renewable energies, a plant of sewage treatment has been installed in order to produce biogas. This methanogenesis unit porduces biogas which is then burnt into a boiler to feed the whole Abbey with heated water.
